Today’s morning coffee brings you some of my favourite things. No, I’m not talking about pastéis de nata, convincing old ladies that I’m normal or trying to pet stray cats. I’m talking about prehistoric stuff, the river Zêzere and Central Portugal.
A team from the Fundão archaelogical museum has recently found a new set of prehistoric rock engravings in the area where other similar engravings were found back in 2003. You can read more about it (in English) here: https://www.theportugalnews.com/news/more-prehistoric-engravings-found-in-fundao-municipality/51515
And for today’s music I wanted to stay whithin the Central Portugal theme but without getting too hardcore, if you know what I mean. So here’s a traditional Portuguese song from the area performed by none other than the amazing José Afonso. If you look around a bit you’ll easily find this song in a variety of versions. Hope you enjoy it!
