Although camarinha will work just as well.
Camarinha is a bush which is native to the South of Portugal and Spain. If you’re on a beach which has pine trees nearby you’ll probably find it!
In the Summer the plant will bear fruit – the tiny white globes you can see here. This fruit is edible but the plant is actually an endangered species – so please leave it untouched!
Trivia tidbit of the day: Camarinha used to be a relatively popular beach snack until the late 1970’s and there’s even a recipe for fruit jelly using camarinha!
