Music for your ears

Although most of this clip was filmed in Lisbon all the games and sports being played reflect more or less traditional aspects of Portuguese life – which is why I chose it for today’s post.

The band, called Deolinda, have a very unique sound, mixing old and new. If you know fado, it may sound something like it – but it isn’t fado! They’re one of the most successful Portuguese bands right now and this song comes from their album “Dois Selos e Um Carimbo”. Trivia tidbit of the day: The singer, Ana Bacalhau, and I went to the same university. It’s a small world!

Brilliant band… people should attempt to translate their lyrics… say so much about us all.
