No, this is not a century old library warning telling you to keep it quiet.
This is a fresco that you can find in the Convent of Christ, part of the old Templar stronghold in Tomar, not very far from Lisbon.
I believe she is a sibyl, an ancient prophetess. But what really captivated me was her facial expression, together with her colourful clothes and the soft chiaroscuro.
Enigmatic? It is to me!
